Learn how to cut a heart shaped cake with me ❤️ 1. Score with a knife into equal quarters 2. Then cut off two sides at an angle to create the bottom of the heart 3. Lay your other slice of cake on top to line up your next two cuts 4. Secure your cake onto the board and attach two of your cut pieces at the top to create the heart shape 5. Cut a triangle at the top with a small knife to finish off the heart shape 6. Pipe a rim of ganache and fill with your desired filling 7. Lay your second piece of cake on top and repeat the process of attaching the smaller pieces each side 8. Lastly cut out your little triangle at the top and cover your heart in ganache or buttercream What tips would you like to see? Let me know below 👇

Here is a great time saving hack for all you bakers! 👩‍🍳 So why do I mark my cake boards with ganache? 🤔 1️⃣ It saves me so much time looking for my final scrape mark when the cake is going in and out of the fridge. 2️⃣ So I can clearly see where the front is and start decorating straight away. 3️⃣ I always strive to perfection but let’s be honest unless your a robot there are always going to be very slight imperfections but these will ONLY be at the back of the cake by doing this. 4️⃣ When making your final scrape around the cake you can clearly see where your hand needs to go on the board so you finish at the back. Ice your cake board like a pro 🙌👩‍🍳 Here is how it’s done 👇 Icing a Board Icing your cake board 1. Use a small amount of trex and smooth it over your board with greaseproof paper 2. Roll out your icing, hold your board over the icing to see if it’s large enough 3. Lift the fondant over the top of the board and use a smoother to secure it 4. With a sharp knife cut off the excess 😊 To give your board that extra special touch tie some ribbon around the outside to hide the silver board edge 🥰 Follow @claireyfairycakes.x for more and save for later

Here is the perfect way to make your cake stand out from the crowd 😍💫 Chocolate polystyrene balls made easy… 🙌 1. Melt some white candy melts and normal white chocolate in the microwave 2. Prepare your polystyrene balls by inserting toothpicks 3. Tip your bowl to the side and make sure you dip the whole ball into the chocolate 4. Tap the stick onto the bowl so the excess chocolate drips off 5. Once you’ve covered all your balls, pop them into the fridge to set before adding them to your cake 6. Once set place them into your cake wherever you wish Now watch your cake stand out and let the compliments come rolling in 🤩 Want another tutorial? Want to make your cake stand out for a special occasion? What about making these rice paper sails in 6 easy steps 👇 1. Have your rice paper at the ready, you can use the sheets whole or cut into different shapes 2. Pour some water into a try and sprinkle your desired edible lustre dust into the water 3. Soak the paper into the water for a couple of minutes each side until it becomes soft and malleable 4. Prepare some non-stick mats for the paper to lay on and shape 5. Pop into the oven for about an hour at 100 degrees or leave overnight to dry 6. Place into your cake 😍 So there you have it! Incredibly simple yet but really effective sails!
